Jones Logistics Partners with Extra Table for Local Food Drive

At Jones Logistics (JoLo), our mission is to improve the lives of our customers, employees, vendors, and the communities we serve. In line with this mission, JoLo proudly partnered with Extra Table for their annual March of the Mayors food drive, donating a truck and trailer for an entire week to support this vital initiative. 

Extra Table is a non-profit organization based in Hattiesburg that is committed to ending hunger in Mississippi. Throughout the year, their team organizes events across the state to raise funds and awareness. One of their flagship efforts is March of the Mayors —a statewide canned food drive led by mayors across Mississippi. 

This impactful event brings communities together to collect non-perishable food for local pantries. To support the cause, JoLo CDL driver James “JB” McReynolds volunteered his time, driving a truck and trailer to each participating city to gather and deliver food donations. Thanks to JB’s commitment, volunteers were able to assemble boxes filled with those donated food items. 

The results were extraordinary: 8,512 food boxes packed, 85,120 pounds of food delivered, and 71,008 meals provided to families in need. A total of 55 food pantries were restocked, and 50 mayors joined forces in this collective fight against food insecurity. The initiative galvanized hundreds of volunteers and thousands of donors, creating a powerful ripple effect across Mississippi.
